Roarkes has created a tutorial for editing your Quake 2 engine based game mod with the editor Quark Army Knife.
This tutorial is made for those who want to understand better how to use the editor Quake Army Knife and modify her/his or an existing game mod. He is now going to see if it is working for Kingpin and, hopefully, he can :)
You can check the tutorial out at ModDB here.

"More Kingpin In Gary's Mod"
posted January 18 - 11:43PM EST by Mr.Damage
You may remember a few months ago I posted about the Kingpin player models being ported to the Half-Life2 Gary's Mod.
Nightstalker was the person responsible for the port and he has now contacted me to let me know he has ported more of Kingpin over.
So far one map, all weapons (except the flamethrower which is being redone), pickups (except single player ones like cash, coil, etc) and the player models.
There is a little Youtube video which shows the rocket launcher in action which you can view here.
"Kingpin Life Of Crime Enhanced Graphics"
posted January 15 - 1:26AM EST by Mr.Damage
Roarkes has used QeffectsGL to enhance the graphics for Kingpin:-
I modified how textures and how the effects look, by tweaking QeffectsGL. For example, the fire, the lights, brightness and the bloom effects. Also, the muzzle flash of the guns in the game is changed. But of course you could tweak the effects, making it look better of worse. I plan to make some decals to go with QeffectsGL, when the player or the caracters in the game fire their weapons and leave a mark on the wall.To install simply copy the files from the archive (QeffectsGL_readme.txt, opengl32.dll and QeffectsGL.ini) in the Kingpin directory, where your Kingpin.exe is.
After you run the game, a log file will appear (QeffectsGL.log). You can read it to see if you have any errors. To uninstall, just delete the three files.
You can download the files from his MODDB page here.
You can also read more information there about his enhancements to the graphics and see several screenshots showing the different effects.
I have also uploaded the files to our Miscellaneous downloads section here.

"Xlab Arena DM Map"
posted January 15 - 12:46AM EST by Mr.Damage
Here is an old death match map made by Sonik which is probably one of his lesser known maps.
Xlab Arena is a small map and as the title suggests is set in some kind of laboratory. It has some nice textures and includes a custom sound :)
You can download Xlab Arena from here.
